Current Research Work

Current research is focused on the protection of human rights defenders in Latin America, specifically on a comparative analysis of the public policy for the protection of human rights defenders in Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico.

Other research and teaching interests have been centred on the development of legal and sociological approaches regarding human rights affairs and scholarship, with particular attention to access to justice and, more recently, concerning the issues involving an effective protection of human rights defenders in Brazil and abroad.
