Neha Dwivedi began her PhD at the Department of Politics and International Relations in October 2023. She holds a Master’s degree in War Studies from the Swedish Defence University in Stockholm, Sweden.

Under the supervision of by Professor Gearoid MillarProfessor Joanne McEvoy, and Dr Tom Bentley, her research focuses on the discursive construction of the ‘right’ time in US-Afghan peace negotiations. Her research interests include temporality, Afghanistan, peace negotiations, violence mapping, and peacebuilding. She enjoys exploring new methods to automate data collection processes.

Previously, she worked as a lead data analyst at Everstream Analytics and as a military analyst at Janes. Additionally, she served as a Visiting Fellow at the Stimson Center’s South Asian Voices program in Washington, D.C., in July 2018. She has contributed articles to the Stimson Center, The Diplomat magazine, and Jane’s Intelligence Review. Furthermore, she has teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant in the Sociology Department at the University of Aberdeen.
