My work centres on civil society, authoritarianism, and international relations, with a regional focus on East and Southeast Asia. Between 2019 and 2023, I was a Marie Skłodowska-Curie PhD fellow at the University of Aberdeen, where my research examined Vietnam’s street protests to understand how ordinary citizens internalise liberal values despite being raised in an authoritarian context.

Alongside my academic work, I have been involved in various initiatives to support grassroots education for social change in Vietnam. Beginning in May 2025, I will develop learning materials grounded in critical pedagogy for activist educators.
